Standard screw type Most popular
For solid walls – brick, block, or plaster on brick. Also works on timber studs if you can tell us where they are. Suits shelves up to 300mm deep and holds around 35kg on a 1000mm shelf. Straightforward to fit (4/10 DIY skill).
Rebar Strongest
Steel rods resin-fixed deep into the wall. Choose this for shelves over 300mm deep (over 250mm on 50mm shelves), for dot & dab walls – plasterboard bonded onto brick with a gap behind – or for loads over 50kg. Needs more precision to fit (7/10 DIY skill).
Plasterboard plate
For cavity plasterboard or ply-lined walls with no solid backing behind. Weight capacity is lower and not every shelf size suits it, so check with us first. Easiest to fit (3/10 DIY skill).

Length
The gap you’re filling, wall to wall. Walls are rarely square, so measure at the front and the back, and at the height the shelf will sit. Give us the smallest figure.
Depth
How far the shelf comes out from the wall. Up to 500mm.
Thickness
25mm, 38mm or 50mm. Thicker shelves look more substantial and carry more weight.

Each paintable floating shelf is handcrafted from premium materials and pre-sanded for the paint of your choice. We are also able to lacqure to any colour for you, from Farrow and Ball to Dulux. The shelves are perfect for alcoves, awkward spaces, or anywhere you need a truly bespoke solution.
